Logic is a very annoying rapper.
Sometimes, I question whether or not Logic takes rapping seriously anymore. Yes, I heard his attempt at making Playboi Carti-like music these past few weeks, but even before that, I feel like he dropped a few questionable boom-bap tracks that just felt all over the place and pointless. I do think there’s some validity to what I’m saying, too, because—people—he retired out of nowhere. Whatever the case may be, he returned with a new single called “GoRound,” and I hate it.
Though we don’t get YN Logic on this song (which I’m thankful for), it still sounds borderline like noise. Over a ragey, uptempo beat that steals elements from Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s “FRIED” track, Logic does some flexing—talking about filling tours, having tons of money, and stealing women even though he’s married. While I like the moments when he sounds like a regular MC, there are just too many antics involved, including altered vocals and disruptions in his flow. To be fair, I do like the beat, and the chorus is solid. I just need more focus from the Marylander.
Logic’s music really pisses me off (Maybe I just woke up on the wrong side of my dusty bed).
